Hello JSU,

For those planning to attend the Torah study at 3:00 on Saturday, I
wanted to offer a little more information. We'll be studying the Akedah
(story of the binding of Isaac), which makes up the bulk of Chapter 22
of Genesis.

It's not necessary to have any prior experience with the story, but you
may find it helpful to read over it quickly to familiarize yourself with
it a bit. You can read the text here:
https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.22?lang=en&aliyot=0. We will also be
reading it together as a group at the beginning of our learning on Rosh
Hashanah.

An additional resource to check out either before the holiday or after
we study together is this website, the Akedah Project.
https://www.jewishlive.org/isaac

They've presented many different interpretations and commentaries on
this text in a fairly accessible format. The first introductory video
may be a good place to start. Again -- this is totally optional, just if
you are curious to go a little deeper.

Best,
Al
