Negotiating Spirituality and Reconciling Identity:
a workshop for Jewish students
Wednesday, September 25th
7 p.m. 9 p.m.
Womens Center, Hampshire College
During this time of armed conflict in Israel/Palestine there is also tension
and conflict within Jewish communities. Young Jewish people are struggling to
negotiate their own feelings about being Jewish during this time, about the
issues surrounding the Middle East, about their family background, and their
spiritual, cultural, and historical identities. Many of us feel as if we must
choose between our politics and our spirituality, or our familys religious
identity and our own.
Negotiating Spirituality and Reconciling Identity: a workshop for Jewish
students brings local and national Jewish activists together with students to
talk about their work, and their own journey being Jewish peace activists. This
is not a lecture, debate, or academic panel, but rather a space for us to have
a dialogue about our different politics as young Jewish people and where to go
with them.
