Hampshire College Law Program invites you to join us for our first
LAW LUNCH of the Spring 2004 semester, an informal talk by Joel
Copperman entitled "Community Sanctions as a Response to Crime".
The talk will be from noon to 1:00 pm in the Living Room at Merrill
House. Lunch, as always, will be provided by our wonderful cadre of
Law Program volunteers.
Mr. Copperman is director of CASES, Center for Alternative Sentences
and Employment Services, New York City, which handles primarily
juvenile offenders in court-mandated programs which provide
alternatives to incarceration for their criminal offenses.
Last summer, two Hampshire students worked very successfully as
interns at CASES. Mr Copperman and the two students would be happy to
talk with others interested in interning there next summer, or
interested in juvenile justice and alternative sentencing issues in
general.
