Interested in a faculty-escorted trip to the international human
rights tribunals at The Hague, Netherlands?

Students with background or interest in human rights law are invited
to join Flavio Risech, Associate Professor of Law, March 21-27, 2004,
at The Hague, engaging in visits to various human rights institutions
and observing the ongoing trials of those accused of war crimes
before the International Criminal Tribunal for the ex-Yugolslavia.

The Program Fee for participation will be $500. Minimum number of participants
is 6, maximum is 10. The Fee will include basic accommodations and
breakfasts at The Hague for 6 nights (Sunday night to Friday
morning). In addition to the Program Fee, you would need to purchase
your own air ticket to Amsterdam (around $450 from NYC or Boston).
You would also need to pay for transportation from Amsterdam's
Schiphol Airport to The Hague, your local transportation to the
Courts and your lunches and dinners, and other incidental personal
expenses.

A good rough estimate for the total cost including Program Fee would
be about $1,200, plus whatever spending money you might need for
incidentals, side trips, or additional days of accommodations and
meals. I have been informed that financial assistance is
unfortunately not available for this trip.

Please reply via email as soon as possible to let me know whether you
would be interested . I would like to be able to make a decision by
Feb 20 as to whether to go ahead with the planning process. I need to
hear affirmative responses from at least six people by that date.

If we go ahead, deposit of the Program Fee will be due by noon on
Friday Feb 27. If I do not have six deposits by that time the trip
will not go forward and your deposit will be refunded. After that
date the Program Fee is nonrefundable.

Please contact me at frisech at hampshire.edu as soon as possible to let
me know of your interest, or for further information.
Hope you can you us!
Flavio Risech
