The faculty and staff of the Hampshire Cuba Program are very proud to to
invite you to "MEET ME AT CALLE 23 y G", the second annual symposium and
celebration of the achievements of our Spring 2009 Cuba students.

Near the University of Havana, the busy intersection of 23rd and G
Streets (Calle 23 y G) is a favored evening gathering place for Havana's
students and young people, who crowd and enliven its benches and
park-like boulevard medians well into the wee hours of the night. So,
"Meet Us at 23 y G!" The event will be held on Thursday, October 8 at
7pm, in the Classroom of the Jerome Liebling Film/Photo Bldg.;
refreshments and snacks will be served.

On the agenda are short presentations of students' wonderful independent
project work. Eleven Hampshire students spent the spring semester living
and working in Havana and developed an impressive range of insightful,
captivating and yes, even brilliant, projects: essays, photography,
printmaking, musical performance, video and more. Visual works will be
on view throughout the evening. This is a special opportunity for the
Hampshire community to learn about the compelling scholarly and artistic
work that students generate in this unique program.

Of special interest to anyone planning to apply for the Hampshire Cuba
Program...come hear about what kinds of projects are possible and talk
with faculty, staff and students who have been there! Thanks for
spreading the word to others who might be interested.
