Hello everyone, and welcome to the GEO Digest: Natural Science edition!
This week will highlight some natural science study abroad programs and
point you to a valuable resource we developed, last year, for NS students!
*Upcoming Events and Deadlines*
Oct. 7th- Program Provider Knowledge Exchange Institute will be tabling
in the Dining Commons from 12PM-1:30PM. KEI offers study abroad and
internships opportunities in 13 different countries! Stop by the table
after lunch to speak to a KEI representative and GEO ambassador Sam
Friedman about this program in particular and about study abroad in general.
Oct. 8th- Student Showcase about Hampshire's Cuba Program! Student
participants from the Spring 2009 Hampshire in Havana, Cuba program will
showcase their work and discuss academic field academic field projects
with the campus community. 7PM-9PM in the Jerome Leibling Center.
Oct. 16th- Spring '10 Hampshire exchange program and Jan-Term
international field course applications due!
Nov. 13th- Spring '10 enrollment notification deadline for field study
students

*Natural Science Highlights*
The NS Resource Guide!!
The Global Education Office has developed a Study Abroad Resource Guide for Natural Science students. It includes Hampshire Exchange programs, various field study programs, Jan-Term programs, and students' experience reports. Come into the office to check it out and talk to us about studying abroad!!
**Hampshire Exchange Program: Woods Hole**
Woods Hole is a marine, biomedical, and environmental science research
facility in Falmouth, MA. Students can participate in an environmental
science program with the Ecosystems Center or a semester at sea on a
134-foot brigantine, during which time they can design their own
research project. There are also interesting summer and semester-long
fellowships available for students who wish to conduct more personalized
research! Woods Hole is a dynamic scientific community, and has a rich
history as such. Come explore the depths of the sea with other

**Field Study Program Provider: The School for Field Studies**
The SFS offers a variety of programs focused on environmental sciences.
Students can travel to Australia for Tropical Rainforest studies, to
Costa Rica for Sustainable Development studies, to Turks & Caicos for
Marine Resource Management, to Kenya for Wildlife Management studies, or
to Mexico for Conserving Marine Mammals and Coastal Ecosystems. Though
Students will be in the field, they will receive credit for 4 or 5
classes (depending on which program) through Boston University. For more

Current Study Abroad Experiences!!!
