Film and Discussion- Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North
In this documentary, ten cousins discover that their New England
ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history and
embark on a journey which brings them face-to-face with the history and
legacy of New England's hidden commercial enterprise. The film traverses
the steps of the Triangle Trade, the family's hometown of Bristol, Rhode
Island, slave forts on the coast of Ghana, and the ruins of a family
plantation in Cuba.
