[Asianmedia] Screening for 9-14-06

Oh Asian Media,
  Has it really only been a week? I feel like it's been an eternity without you.
We should celebrate this occasion? What occasion are we celebrating you ask?
Well that, and other news await you at this week's screening. How are we
celebrating?

How about by showing you the friggen' best Asian Media we have to offer this
week? (Okay, actually that Kerey had to offer, thank you Kerey!)

Anyway, here's what's up:
8:00PM - Akira Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress - Known as one of the more light
hearted works from the certifiable king of Samurai movies, The Hidden Fortress
tells the tale of two peasants escaping from a battlefield until they're
persuaded with lots and lots of gold to escort two strangers across enemy
lines. These strangers are hiding an important secret though... This movie was
so famous, George Lucas even credits it with being one of the prime
inspirations for the original Star Wars trilogy. So come check it out, and then

10:00PM - Full Metal Alchemist - Last week we were introduced to Ed and Al, two
brothers who through their own innocent folly were cursed when they tried to
raise their mother from the dead with alchemy. This week as they search for a
cure to their plight, they'll come across zombies, terrorists, and face the
even greater terror of the state alchemist exam. Oh the horror, can they
survive!!!!111zomg1?

As always, Asian Media is in the West Lecture Hall of FPH, every Thursday night
starting at 8PM. Bring a friend or six so we can latch our tentacles onto more
vict...I mean expose the campus to amazing works of Asian cinema. ^_^
