Dear Asian Media,
As you may have noticed, I’m actually getting this letter out on time this week.
Although it may conjure up some insane theories like there was actually some
planning done for this week, I have to tell you that such theories are complete
lies. I just used my awesome influence over the time-space continuum and


Actually, you know what? I’m even boring myself, so here’s what we’re showing
this week:

8:00-Genshiken-This week, our favorite Society for the study of modern visual
culture tries to attract new members, and go through the experience of
building
dare I say it? Gundam models. There’s also a rumor that the creepy
chairman might actually graduate one of these days


9:00-Kujibiki Unbalance-Boy, episode 21 already? It feels like we only started
watching this a couple weeks ago. Just kidding, of course. We’ll be watching
the 2nd of three episodes of an anime created for the characters of Genshiken
to be obsessed with, and technically, it is the 21st episode, even if there
were no actual 20 episodes between it and the one we watched two weeks ago.

9:30-Appleseed (2004) - Set over a hundred years in the future, an apocalyptic
war has rendered most of the earth barren. Deunen Knute, is rescued from the
war zone and brought to Olympus, the last remaining human city where humans
coexist with “bioroids” – Clones genetically engineered to be less emotional
then their human counterparts. However, there are those who feel threatened by
the bioroid presence and will do anything to eradicate the race they believe is
making the human race obsolete


So that’s what’ll be up on the big screen. As always Asian media is Thursdays at
