[YellowBike] no fork mods, says mass bike law

why in the world would they care about long forked bikes... all I can
figure is that they were
afraid of young kids endangering themselves, but none of them are gonna be
welding.  Either that or schwinn (makers of the stingray, the only
factory made chopper as far as I know) bribed them, seeing people doing
what they were doing long before schwinn tried to sell it to them as
unfairly hindering their profits.
         The Critical Mass stuff is crazy.  Just a few years ago the cops
loved Critical Mass from what I hear.  But for the last year and a half
or so I keep hearing about people getting fucked with worse and worse just
trying to participate. I've actually also heard about the police driving
cars straight into the critical mass rides to force people to stop riding.
Is is true what I hear that the problem is biggest in NYC?  The NYPD tends
to be particularly nasty to any kind of protestor, on a bike or otherwise.
