Hey all!

So I just checked the Doodle poll and it looks like the best time would
be *Fridays at 3:30pm. *For the organizing meetings.

So _this friday, at 3:30pm, in the QCAC _we will have our first meeting.
We are going to discuss _what our first program(s) will be, and other
plans for the semester. _If this is too short notice, then please just
reply and I will send out a correction that the first meeting will be
the Friday after this one. It's gonna be a pretty chill meeting and
having high attendance isn't very important, but we would love if you
attended. So I don't think it's too big a deal to announce it just a day
in advance? Lemme know, not a big deal if we postpone, we've got plenty
of time.

To be clear about the structure, this meeting is basically what other
groups call their signer meetings, except that we want to de-emphasize
Signers as Leaders for this group and instead open it up so that this is
a network of people who want to organize/have resources and programs.
This also better facilitates the management of multiple programs. This
is a similar structure to what the Sports Co-Op has. If the basketball
team ceased to have anyone interested in it, that doesn't result in the
soccer team also being dismantled, and if people want to start a
lacrosse team, they could go through the sports co-op rather than
seeking individual group recognition. Except instead of different sports
teams we have programs which can be temporal (events, drop-in spaces,
support groups, etc.) or non-temporal (hampedia pages, pamphlets, zines,
clothing bins, listservs, facebook groups, etc.).

At our revival/planning meetings during Janterm, there was a lot of
interest in two possible programs in particular. One, was a bin with a
combo lock for people to transition their wardrobe by trading in clothes
they don't want to wear anymore and getting clothes that match their
desired gender presentation. The other, was a weekly "drop-in" time for
social events, alternating between unplanned casual spaces and planned
workshops. So if you'd like to help out in organizing either of those,
then come to the organizing meeting and help us plan them. Also, do come
with your other ideas and stuff.

Hope to see you there but also not going to be disappointed in you if I
don't,
<3
Y(ou)r signer,
Jess

P.s
(do people feel better about yr or your? I find it easier to write yr
because it can be your or you're and i feel like im being a punk when i
do it, but i've heard some people finding it alienating? lemme know if
you'd rather i avoid using yr in these emails)
