Dear Friends,
Welcome to the final email of our six-week SRLP
<http://www.srlp.org/sustain> Sustainability Fundraising Campaign where
we're highlighting a different team at SRLP and related parts of the
website. This week, we're highlighting the Fundraising and Finance Team!
Last Fiscal Year, Sylvia Rivera Law Project had 497 individual donors, not
counting all the people who give cash at events! SRLP's successful
Grassroots Fundraising is made possible by an amazing community of
volunteers and donors who give both money and in-kind support. Our events
are organized by teams of community members and allies who volunteer their
time and skills to bring people together. Most of the supplies, food and
beverages, graphic design, and event spaces are donated so that the money we
raise at the events goes right into supporting the work of the organization.
Check out this excellent article
<http://www.srlp.org/files/GettingItRightFromStart.pdf> by Dean Spade about
how and why SRLP is committed to Grassroots Fundraising!
