Hey all,

It's that (most wonderful) time of the year again - the CLPP
Conference "From Abortion Rights to Social Justice" 2007 planning is
well underway, which means...
WE NEED DEFENSIVE (AWESOME, FUN-LOVING) DRIVERS!

The only Defensive Driving course scheduled thus far is THIS SUNDAY
at 7:30pm in the RCC (talk to Amanda Surgen at the RCC) ...

The transportation committee is looking for good folks to drive vans
and shuttles between Hampshire and UMASS on the weekend of the
conference - March 31st -April 1st (and a few March 30th)...You do
have to meet some basic requirements, but they're pretty
straightforward and driving for the conference is a pretty awesome
way to meet speakers and to lend a hand. And, it doesn't take the
whole day - just a few 1-hour or so shifts throughout the day
(probably with only 1 or 2 per driver).

In order to be eligible to drive, you must be (or fit the criteria to
be) a 'Hampshire [defensive] driver':
Hampshire’s defensive driver eligibility criteria:
In order to drive this year you must:
   a) have had a US drivers license for at least 3 years;
   b) have taken Defensive Driving (DD); and
   c) Submit your driving record from your state of license to public
safety (or to us). Each state has different regulations – and you
can find your state’s website at: <http://www.onlinedmv.com/>
   d) be a Hampshire student
If you've been a defensive driver in the past, for any Hampshire
event, you probably still are...

If you know you would like to drive for CLPP, and are not a defensive
driver, please please *PLEASE* go to the Defensive Driving 'class' on
Sunday at 7:30pm in the RCC. PLEASE talk to Amanda at the RCC about
the DD class ASAP.

We would *love* to have you. If many folks are not defensive drivers
and can't make the DD class this Sunday, we will try to schedule
another one before the conference, but it's expensive...

if you have any questions, please feel free to email us at
clpptransport at hampshire.edu. And forward widely!

lots of love. of course,
your local transportation committee.
