Hi all,


I am writing to invite undergraduate students or high school students to 
present their research at the 17th Annual Research Symposium at 
Bridgewater State University. Click the link in the attached flyer for 
more information about the conference and registration.

Bridgwater State University's Undergraduate Research program is proud of 
its extraordinary support for student research to advance the 
university’s culture of scholarly excellence and help students realize 
their professional goals. As a part of this culture, we have hosted the 
Annual Research Symposium for 16 years.

Saturday, November 17, 2018 9:15 AM - 3:00 PM Bridgewater State 
University, Rondileau Campus Center Ballroom

Guest Speaker: We are very happy to have Jessica Donohue from the Sea 
Education Association at The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution who 
will talk about ocean microplastics.

ABSTRACT DEADLINE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9 at 5:00 PM

to students in all academic disciplines, and to community college and 
high school students.

is for electronic submission of your title and abstract, authors, 
faculty advisor, and affiliation. Fill out the appropriate fields, then 
click the “submit” button at the bottom of this page. Questions 
regarding your abstract may be directed to Dr. Ed Brush 
(ebrush at bridgew.edu <mailto:ebrush at bridgew.edu>).

On Saturday, November 17th, Symposium check-in will begin at 8:00 AM 
with coffee, juice and light snacks. Opening Remarks will begin promptly 
at 9:15 AM, and the Guest Speaker at 9:30 AM. Poster and concurrent oral 
sessions will follow, with lunch at 11:45 AM. All presenters are 
expected to participate for the entire Symposium which ends at 3:00 PM.

By November 12 you will be contacted with specific details regarding 
your presentation. POSTER PRESENTERS will be supplied with a 4'x5' 
free-standing poster board, tacks, and 1'x5' of table space. ORAL 
PRESENTATIONS will be 20 minutes each (15 minute presentation and 5 
minutes for questions), and may be power point, panel, or group. All 
presenters, advisors and guests must pay a $25 Early Registration Fee to 
help offset costs. Please note that we can only accept on-line credit 
card payment. Early Registration ends Monday, November 13. You will be 
directed to the Registration site once your abstract is received. The 
late registration fee is $30.
