4:30-6pm Amherst Recycling and Refuse Management Committee meeting, first
floor meeting room Amherst town hall

7pm, in the Cole Assembly Hall a.k.a. the Red Room in Converse Hall,
Amherst Direct Action Coordinating Committee (DACC) is hosting an action at
Amherst College's first presentation/town-hall on their new Climate Action
Plan. As DACC sees it, the Climate Action Plan fails to recognize the
urgency of climate change by making the deadline for climate action 2035!!
DACC is asking us to show up and emphasize student concerns and interest,
as well as ask some key questions/support others asking key questions, such
as what the role of students will be in the plan, and why they chose an end
date of 2035 for carbon neutrality.

Points of Intervention in Challenging the Consumption Economy and why what
we throw "away" matters since there is no "away." Also, learn useful skills
for sorting waste and how to conduct a waste audit to measure waste on
campus.
