Film Screening: "When Two Worlds Collide"

Join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary film "When Two
Worlds Collide," directed by: Heidi Brandenburg and Mathew Orzel. The film
tells the story of indigenous leader Alberto Pizango and his community's
fight to protect indigenous Amazonian lands from the violence of extractive
industry.

Workshop on Deforestation and Community Resilience

*Interactive Workshop on Deforestation and Community Resilience, Hosted by
Phimonphan Sakitram (Pang)*

Deforestation is a global issue, that greatly contributes to climate
change. Pang will present her work on deforestation issues in Thailand, and
discuss how local communities are combating this issue. Students will bring
their experiences with deforestation and related issues, and identify
opportunities to promote resilience in methods to address this global
crisis. This interactive workshop is hosted by Pang, the Roddenberry grant,
Five College Architecture, and the Luce Initiative for Asian Studies and
the Environment.
