Application Developer/DBA,(IT III) Information Technology Group

Keene State College seeks an Application Developer/DBA to join a
service-oriented team in the Information Technology Group.

The Information Technology Group provides a range of technology services
and technical support to the Keene State campus. Campus information
systems and services consist of business and student services,
instructional delivery, and campus communications. Keene State College
is primarily a Windows environment with some key systems running
AIX(UNIX) and Linux. Enterprise servers are operating in physical
environments of virtual environments. Enterprise servers are primarily
hosted on Dell or IBM hardware. For database environments, we use a
combination of SQL, Oracle and IBM's Unidata. Ellucian's Colleague is
KSC's Student Information and Alumni System, and our plan is to migrate
Colleague from Unidata to SQL.

The Application Developer/DBA will work on a team of 25 full-time staff
and more directly with team of nine full-time staff members. The
Application DBA/Devloper role is expected to:
Ensure optimal database performance of the KSC Student Information and
Alumni System, Colleague.
Plan and lead Colleague technical implementations.
Manage Colleague data feeds.
Provide Colleague application development services to leverage
enterprise integration between existing and new systems.
Provide technical administration and support for Colleague daily
operations.
Work closely with vendor partners to leverage current technology and new
opportunities.
Adhere to best practices for application development/dba security and
documentation.
Participate as the technical lead in project teams.
Work in collaboration with Help Desk staff and other ITG staff to
resolve technical issues.

Qualifications Required: A Bachelor's degree and four years of
experience in the information technology field, Associate's degree and
six years of experience in the information technology field, or
combination of education and experience to equal eight years; Three
years' experience of SQL or MySQL or Oracle or Unidata database
administration for a critical, enterprise-wise transactional database;
experience managing data feeds from a transactional database source;
developer experience with any of the following: Java/J2EE, PHP, Perl or
another developer language; experience creating APIs and use of web
services for integration of enterprise systems.

Candidates must also have experience in the following areas: Extract,
Translate and Load database tools, management and tracking of user
licenses; proven technical troubleshooting and analytical skills;
commitment to improving and expanding technical knowledge; demonstrated
organizational and documentation skills; the ability to communicate and
collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
understanding of project management methodology; strong work ethic with
a proven ability to work well independently and/or as part of a team.

Additional Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a Higher Educational
environment; demonstrated customer service skills; experience
leading/participating large-scale project teams; experience with:
Student Information and Alumni System, Colleague Student Information and
Alumni System, Unidata database, working with Unix or Linux variants,
Business Object's reporting environment; experience as a system
administrator of Windows or Linux servers, working with Eclipse
integrated development environment, ASP.NET, SharePoint, Microsoft AD,
LDAP.

Additionally, the College has identified desirable qualifications that
support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus
community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a
multicultural perspective to the campus. Salary range: $54,280-$61,620,
normally not to exceed $68,990, complemented by a generous benefits
package.
