Another fascinating talk in the Rare Book Room

Marshall Weber will lecture on "Creative Linguistics: Xu Bing and Artists Books" on Monday April 7 from 2:30-4 in the Rare Book Room in Neilson Library (3rd floor).

Xu Bing is an internationally renowned artist whose recent work in "square word calligraphy" combines the roman alphabet and Chinese calligraphy in order to force viewers to reconsider their deeply embedded reactions to written language. Marshall Weber is an interdisciplinary artist and bookmaker, as well as one of the co-founders of the Booklyn Artist Alliance, an organization that unites artists who produce books.

Images of Xu Bing's work can be found at http://www.xubing.com

And, you can still see the Werner Pfeiffer exhibition even if you have to miss the opening reception with the artist on Thurs., April 3.
