April 4th through April 28th 2007

“The Union Makes Us Strong,” an exhibit of collages, books, and
posters by M. Kasper, will run from April 4th through April 28th at
the gallery in the Liebling Center for Film, Photography and Video,
at Hampshire College.

Michael Kasper, who works as a reference librarian at Amherst
College, is also a widely published author and graphic artist.
According to critic Richard Kostelanetz, in the Dictionary of the
Avant-Gardes, Kasper has, over years, produced “a series of tart
visual/verbal fictions…that his peers commonly rank among the best.”

The Hampshire show, curated by Assistant Professor of Photography
Robert Seydel, includes original collages from the 1970’s and 1980’s,
complete paste-ups for two artist’s books, and an array of published
work, drawn from over three decades’ production. There will be a
reception for the artist in the gallery on Tuesday, April 10th, at
4:30 pm.

The gallery in the Liebling Center is open Sundays through Thursdays
from 1 pm to midnight, and Fridays and Saturdays from 1 pm to 6.
Hampshire College is located at 893 West St., in Amherst.
