Paper, Bone, Vellum, Stone: Bookworks by Susan Barron

Dear fellow bibliophiles,

You've already been invited to a reception tomorrow afternoon from
4-6 pm in the Mortimer Rare Book Room at Smith College for Susan
Barron, the NYC book artist whose works are now on display in the
Book Arts Gallery on the 3rd floor. Please do come, especially if you
haven't seen this provocative show!

Earlier today the artist agreed to give a little gallery talk for
some of my students beforehand, at 3:30, and I wanted to extend that
invitation to all of you as well. She will speak informally about
some of the works on display and comment on her intention and working
methods. She is an interesting person and worth hearing.

Wine and goodies, too (starting at 4:00)!
