Dear Colleagues (apologies for cross-postings),

Thank you for your continued interest (and your patience). The Center for
the Book is very much alive and well. In fact, we will probably postpone
meetings of our seminar until next term because the fall calendar already
offers such a rich array of activities.

Several of our events arose in conjunction with the completely redesigned
First-Year Program at Hampshire. One of our goals is to encourage students
to think about the nature of books, book history, and book studies as early
as possible in their college careers.

€ We begin with a screening this Thursday when we launch our FIRST ANNUAL
FILM SERIES dedicated to films about books.

FALL 2002 THEME: DANGEROUS BOOKS!
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND INCLUDE DISCUSSION
ACCOMPANIED BY FREE REFRESHMENTS.
