Dear all,
It's getting to be that time of the week again -- come escape the cold &
hunker down with some warm food and warm hearts with the Jewish Student
Union!
This week's Shabbat (the weekly Jewish day of rest) will be a special
evening of exploration, reflection and expression with DEB GORLIN!
_Deb is co-director of the Hampshire Writing Program and winner of the
2014 May Sarton Poetry Prize. Her new book of poems, Life of the
Garment, will be coming out this April. we're super excited to have Deb
in our sacred space, sharing her poetry and leading meaningful
conversation!_
**BRING POEMS/WRITINGS/ART OF YOUR OWN TO SHARE!!! & BRING FRIENDS TO
SHARE WITH!** FEEL FREE TO DRESS UP!
5:30 PM - welcoming in the restful & rejuvenating energy of Shabbat w/ a
SPIRITUAL, CONTEMPLATIVE, SINGING SERVICE led by Yoshi and Jake. ALL ARE
WELCOME. no knowledge of Judaism / Hebrew necessary! just an (aspiration
towards) an open mind / heart & a willingness to try something new...
6:15 PM - POETRY SHARING SPACE / CONVERSATION CIRCLE. Deb will be
treating us to some of her work -- what can you bring to share? think: a
poem of your own, a question you've been wrestling with, a riddle.....
all of this will be accompanied by A WONDERFUL HOMECOOKED VEGETARIAN
DINNER BY CHEF ZOE!

Greetings all!
We are seeking a work-study student who will serve as the INTERN for
JSU, starting in mid March and continuing at least through Spring 2016.
The intern role functions under the umbrella of the Spiritual Life
department.
The ideal candidate will be a first or second year student, have great
organizational skills, patience, a good sense of humor, a drivers
license, & some familiarity with Jewish dietary laws (kashrut).
Responsibilities include shopping every week for Shabbat dinners,
shopping for holiday meals, helping to organize for Shabbat and
holidays, and supporting the administrative functions of Jewish life at
Hampshire.
The position is ~5 hours/week.
If you have some but not all the requirements, you are still welcome to
apply.
