You are cordially invited.....
To an evening of Havdallah, food (from an actual restaurant) and discussion of
the future of the
Jewish Community at Hampshire *otherwise known as the JSU leadership retreat*.
Where: Jewish Community of Amherst (after we get a head count-we will let you
know about transportation-it is accessible by bus)
RSVP: email rag04 at hampshire.edu, srg04 at hampshire.edu, or adl02 at hampshire.edu.
PLEASE RSVP BY TUESDAY THE 7TH
When: Saturday February 11th @ 5:00
Who: you! (people who care about Hampshire's Jewish community and who have
thoughts as to its future development; or who want to take up more leadership
in coming semesters).
Things to keep in mind:
What is a Jewish Community?
Optimally, what should a Jewish Community provide (programs, opportunities for
religious observance)? What would your fantasy JSU involve?
How do you see yourself in relation to the Jewish Community? How do you see
yourself as a part of the JSU?
What are some more specific programing ideas you would get excited about? (not
necessarily that you would have to organize!!)
This will be a discussion and complete re-evaluation of the Hampshire Jewish
Student Union. Obviously this will take into consideration the way things have
been done in the past, but mostly we want to focus on the future, rather than
rehashing what people may or may not like about the way things have been done
in past semesters. Essentially we won't to make sure that the needs of the
community are being met and that this community can further evolve.
