"BUT IT WAS MY IDEA!" 
_What to Expect When You Bring Your Creative Ideas Forward at Your
Internship and Beyond_ 

Hampshire Alum Jason Cilo (F'88) will give a brief talk about working in
the tv/film/content creation business and will also hold a Q&A about the
role of intellectual property in both the creative process and the
business of content creation. As content creators, we face a whole bunch
of seemingly complicated issues when it comes to our ideas and how and
when we control and 'own' them and the work that stems from them. What's
the difference between a job or internship and a co-production or
partnership? How can you protect your ideas? What's reasonable, what's
aggressive, and when should you be one from the other? This session will
provide a very broad overview, drawn from Jason's personal and
professional experiences as a writer, producer-for-hire, and as
President of Meetinghouse Productions, Inc, a NYC-based production
company that makes a wide variety of content for the web, TV, and
emerging platforms.
