Description:
The International Senior Lawyers Project seeks a dynamic and talented
individual to serve as the organization’s Administrative Assistant in
their New York office. The majority of time will be spent providing
administrative support to the Executive Director, other staff members
and, on occasion, Executive Committee members, but there are many
opportunities to become involved in project support and logistical
planning. The Assistant will interact with prominent lawyers on a daily
basis and must be confident in doing so. The position is a great way to
learn about international project development, international affairs,
and NGO management.

Responsibilities:
• Support organizational administrative needs, including word processing,
copying, faxing, setting up conference calls and similar duties.
• Assist with donor mailings and thank-you letters.
• Maintain Volunteer database.
• Help create bi-annual newsletter.
• Assist with staff/volunteer overseas travel planning and coordination.
• Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings.
• Respond to public inquiries.
• Update web site as needed.
• Prepare occasional short research papers on countries where ISLP is
considering assistance.
• Assist in reimbursing volunteers.
• Assist Accountant during audit.
• Additional institutional support as necessary.

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelors degree.
• 1 year work/intern experience.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and InDesign (or comparable software).
• Ability to work under pressure with very close attention to detail and
minimal supervision.
• Integrity and professional discretion.
• Excellent grammar.
• Ability to multi-task and creatively address issues as they arise.
• Ability to commitment of two years.
