Announcement
Please join us for a talk with Dr. Jillian Todd Weiss, Associate
Professor of Law and Society at Ramampo College:

/*Transgender Constitutional Rights: How Justice Kennedy Killed the Sex
Police*/

Justice Kennedy wrote the opinion in the 2003 Supreme Court case of
/Lawrence v. Texas/ that invalidated anti-gay laws. The opinion seemed
to create a constitutional right of sexual freedom, which might be
extended to transgender freedom, but it's not exactly clear how. This
talk explains how this works.

The talk will take place Friday April 17th at 2pm, West Lecture Hall in
Franklin Patterson Hall at Hampshire College.

Dr. Weiss will also meet informally with interested students at the
Women's Center at Hampshire College on April 17th from 11:30am-12:45pm.
Students from the Five College community are welcome. Lunch will be
provided by Fresh Side. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to
Jennifer Hamilton at jhamilton at hampshire.edu by April 15th.

Sponsored by the Hampshire College Law Program and Pre-Law Society and
the Hampshire College Women's Center.
