A Program to Promote
Diversity in the Legal Profession
What do college students of color think of the legal profession?
Would they consider the law as a career?
WHAT: A one-day conference to engage students of color in a discussion
about the legal profession and law-related careers. Students will hear
about the roles individuals with legal training play in everyday society,
meet with attorneys and judges, and have an opportunity to share their
views of the law and lawyers.
WHO MAY ATTEND: Students from Hampshire College, Smith College, Mount
Holyoke College, Amherst College and University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
WHEN: Saturday, November 9, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: Hampshire College, the Red Barn
Route 116, Amherst, MA (behind the Admissions Office)
REGISTER: Attendance is free. Register by e-mail to tdoherty at hampshire.edu.
Lunch will be provided to all registered attendees. (Day-of attendees may
receive lunch on an as-available basis.)
