UPCOMING EVENTS
*Prague and Krakow Short-Term Course Info Session*
Monday, December 6th at 5:30 PM
Hampshire College, FPH East Lecture Hall
Students on Hampshire's short-term course in Prague and Krakow will have the
opportunity to spend 3 weeks in May/June studying the rich histories and
cultures of these two cities through seminars taught by local specialists,
visits to art and history museums, readings, and of course lots of site visits.
Enjoy a screening at this info session of an animated short by Czech artist Ian
Svankmajer.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
*Creativity, Vandalism and The Landscape*
A course in creativity and controversy, combining environmental art and
environmental science in Burren College of Art, Ireland. This 4-week
interdisciplinary, project-based summer school invites artists, scientists and
environmentalists to engage directly with the Burren landscape as a microcosm
of environmental issues world-wide. Working collaboratively and independently
in the landscpae and in the studios and workshops of the college you will
explore how ecological issues and human creativity interact to either damage or
to enhance the natural landscape.

*NYU Hyperlocal Newsroom Summer Academy*
This is a program centered on the NYTimes.com community news site, The Local
East Village, which is the result of a collaboration between the NYU Journalism
Institute and the New York Times. In the Academy, students will learn new
techniques and sharpen their skills, with the chance to have their best work
published on the site at the discretion of the editor and under the guidance of
NYU's journalism faculty.

*SUTS Summer Program, Malaysia*
Swinburne University of Technology-Sarawak offers a 4-week summer program on the
History, Culture and Society of Sarawak. Students will immerse themselves within
the local culture as a means to developing intercultural understanding. The
course applies sociolinguistic and/or ethnographic techniques along with
instruction and/or intercultural communication to aid students in their depth
of understanding and appreciation of the cultural context being studied.

*IES Rabat, Morocco*
Rabat Summer Program is designed for students interested in learning Arabic,
this program offers language courses at the beginning intermediate, and
advanced level in Modern Standard Arabic. IES Abroad courses focus on North
African and Islamic Studies and introduce you to the many forces influencing
the history and culture of Morocco. Disciplines include gender studies,
political science and religious studies.
