DEADLINES AND EVENTS!
TODAY!!: Spring '10 Hampshire Exchange Program Application Deadline,
Hampshire January Term Field Course Applications deadline.
Nov. 13th: Spring '10 Enrollment Notification Deadline Important-- Note:
This deadline is for ALL students participating in field study and study
abroad programs next semester. For students on field study, you must
also pay attention to your program's deadlines!!
Thursday, Oct. 22 12pm-1:00 in NS 333: Semester in Environmental Science
information session: Discover environmental science through the Semester
in Environmental Science (SES) at the Marine Biological Lab in Woods
Hole, MA. SES is a Hampshire Exchange program that takes place every
fall semester. For more information about this program visit their

chat with us about the program!
HAMPSHIRE MAY/SUMMER FIELD COURSES
Just because snow is already falling doesn't mean you can't start
thinking about what you'll be doing this summer! Hampshire runs four
faculty-led field courses in May and June, check 'em out on GEO's
website: http://www.hampshire.edu/geo/14400.htm or speak directly to the
faculty running the course!
Identities, Cultures, and Texts in East-Central Europe (Czech Rep. and
Poland) with profs. James Wald and Polina Barskova
Course work will focus on authority and resistance in modern and
contemporary central European culture. There will be site visits to
dozens of lectures, museums, concerts and meetings with local
specialists in history, anthropology, art history, and urban planning.
Super 8 Filmmaking in Paris (France) with prof. Baba Hillman
This is an intensive workshop in film making and film theory. Each
student will shoot, process, and edit a short film. Theory work will
focus on migration and diasporic communities in contemporary film.
Where Three Streams Meet: Exploring Celtic Spirituality (Ireland) with
prof. Bob Meagher
This course explores the spirituality of pre-Celtic, pre-Christian, and
Christian populations of Ireland. These rich legacies will be studied
through text, from those written in stone to exquisitely illuminated
manuscripts.
Summer Intensive Chinese Program (China) directed by prof. Kay Johnson
Students can choose from a four or eight week program of daily mandarin
classes at Anhui Agricultural University. There is also the option of
interning at an orphanage or migrant's children school.
