[Clusterusers] ssh to nodes

I'm still unable to ssh without password from master to the nodes, and
reading the ssh man page I see stuff apparently indicating that we
shouldn't even have to do the ssh-keygen. This is because all of the
nodes (and master) are in /etc/hosts.equiv and:

First, if the machine the user logs in from is listed in
/etc/hosts.equiv
or /etc/ssh/shosts.equiv on the remote machine, and the user names
are
the same on both sides, the user is immediately permitted to log
in.

So it should just work?

The above text, however, is in the section about version 1 of the
protocol, while the text about version 2 is less clear about this
issue... And I don't see how to force the use of a particular
version...

Anybody have any thoughts or advice about how to do scripted ssh in the
context of all of this, either with or without keys? From what I can
tell it should work with or without keys, but I can't get it to work
either way :-(

Thanks,

  -Lee
