Hello All,
If you have not already please set up a Gimlet account. On 2/1
Courtney subscribed you all and you should have gotten an email with
the subject line Your Invitation to Gimlet. Use the link provided in
that email to set your password and then you will be able to log in to
the Gimlet site: Gimlet.hampshire.us. You were all subscribed with
your Hampshire emails. If you never got an invitation to Gimlet
please check with Courtney or me. We are trying to get in the habit
of logging in to Gimlet for the day on the circ desk machines, so
please read through the most recent questions and answers in addition
to logging new ones.
As far as upcoming projects you will soon be more active participants
in the work of the library and doing less of a monitor's job. I will
be assigning you all stack ranges that you will check at least once a
week to make sure that they are tidy and in order. More information
will follow about that next week. Our library blog is just about up
and we will soon be asking for you to contribute posts to it. Lastly,
I am working with our Arts Librarian, Rachel, to make a libguide,
basically an online reference manual, that will be a filled with
information that will help you be successful in your job. As we build
this site I will be looking for volunteers to help me do screencasts
of procedures in Aleph, such as finding out if a patron may borrow a
key and finding out who a key is currently checked out to. I will
also be having you look at the libguide periodically for your
constructive criticism on the ease of its use and the information it
contains since you are my experts on the training needs of student
workers.
Thank you and I look forward to pursuing these new projects with you.
Suzanne
