Hello All,

There seems to be some confusion this semester regarding how reserves are
handled. Here's a refresher:

-Hampshire and 5-C books are shelved in call number order on the left side of
the stacks as you walk down the reserve aisle.

-Personal items (non-library owned) are shelved in order by title on the right
side of the aisle. Bev found 3 library reserves on that side today.

-CDs and DVDs are shelved by title regardless if they are library owned or
personal copies. They too are on the right side of the aisle

-Any item that gets returned and has a hold for the patron HC RESERVES needs to
go to Bev for processing. If you check in such a book when the circ office is
locked please leave the book with a hold slip on the Kael cart outside the circ
office. Please do not put books with reserve holds directly on the reserves
shelf! I found 5 such books on the reserves shelves this morning. Bev has to
change the collection and the loan period and add reserve tape before they are
ready to circulate.

-We have a new Reserve location. Items with green Open Reserve tape do not
circulate. They have to be used in the library only. The Open Reserve books
are shelved on the reference stacks that face the new book shelf. They are
shelved by class. If you don't know which class to shelve the book under,
check the Catalog, the Reserves tab, and use the Title Begins With search.
This will indicate which course the item is on reserve for.

Thank you and please ask if you have any questions about this email or any other
aspect of your job.
