Hi Everyone,

Rejoice, for there are new copiers at the library (and a new microprinter
too). The machines are brand new, so the print quality is many more times
better than the old machines. Here's a quick tour of how the new machines
are different:

- Functions will be programmed by using the small touch window and the
number key pad.

- You will no longer need a key to load paper. Paper is loaded in the
trays on the front of the machine. Legal (8 1/2 X 14") goes in the LG tray,
and regular 8 1/2 X 11 paper goes in the LT tray.

- Put all originals, whether they be a driver's license, a regular sheet of
paper, or a legal sheet of paper, up against the top left corner of the
glass. This is unlike the old machines where the legal originals were
placed half way down the glass.

-Jams are cleared by opening the doors on the sides of the machine. There
is no way to clear jams by opening the front cover anymore.

-Use the FUNCTION CLEAR button to clear the previous patron's settings.

THESE MACHINES DO MAKE DOUBLE-SIDED COPIES.
The best solution is for students to use the 2 to 1 option where 2 sheets of
paper are copied onto one side of one page.

THESE MACHINES DO NOT SORT OR STAPLE.

PLEASE DO NOT SHUT THE MACHINES DOWN AT CLOSING.

These machines have some other neat features. You should look over the
machine and get used to the functions for when patrons approach you with
questions. Stop in on Friday if you wish and I¹ll do a demo for interested
students.
