Hello Everyone,

It has been reported to me that the library is not being properly
shut down at night. The biggest problem is that the headphone/key
cabinet is not getting locked. Please remember to lock this cabinet
and drop the key into the locked drawer. This cabinet holds keys to
rooms that house expensive audio and visual equipment - it must be
secured every night. The next problem is that some of the computers
in the reference area are being left on overnight. Occasionally
these computers do freeze up. The blue and teal computers can be
re-started by inserting a paper clip into the hole under the triangle
on the side of the machine. The new white computers can be restarted
by holding down the button on the side of the machine to shut them
off, and then pressing the button again to turn them on. If you
don't know what I'm referring to, please ask me or Chris for an
explanation. Lastly, please make sure to shut off the photocopiers.

There were several problems with timeslips. I made the necessary
corrections or additions. I also made photocopies of the ones with
"issues" and I will talk to these students individually. This is
the summary of the problems: forgetting to log shifts that were
worked, adding incorrectly, and not completing all of the required
fields (like entering your initials). This is a warning that
timeslips will be submitted "as is" next pay period and I will not
feel bad if you don't get paid because your slip is incomplete.

Finally, the re-shelving carts have been in poor shape in the past
week. I'm still catching reserve books on them, and this morning the
A-HN cart is a disaster. There are HQ's through J's on it and E's
following the G's. Please, please, please take your time and pay
attention to what you are doing!

Now that that's all out of my system I hope you have a good week.

Suzanne
