From jdbLO at hampshire.edu Fri Feb 22 16:54:05 2019 From: jdbLO at hampshire.edu (jdbLO) Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2019 16:54:05 -0500 Subject: [Yurt] Welcome Message-ID: <344A8AF7-EB82-4783-BE09-9DD2D0463404@hampshire.edu> hello all, and welcome back to Yurt Radio! we apologize for the delay on this email, and for any other delays you may have experienced with us this semester. as most of you may know, hampshire college isn?t doing too well (read: crumbling before our eyes), and that?s the excuse we?re going to leave you with--take it or leave it. anyway, here?s the situation: If you are RETURNING dj: Interested in renewing your show? great! you can have it. We just need another signed yurt user contract from you (attached to this email) and an email confirmation that you want to keep your previously reserved timeslot. If you want to change your timeslot, shoot us a different email with some preferred hour-long times, and we?ll fill you in. The current Zimbra calendar up on radio.hampshire.edu is fully updated, so any show time listed there is booked and unavailable for the rest of this semester. Just as a reminder: returning djs do NOT need to be trained on equipment! Just turn in your contracts (John Bruner?s office is in the media basement of the library, and there?s a mailbox right outside of it) and communicate timing with us. Thanks and welcome back! If you are a NEW or PROSPECTIVE dj: Yes, you can get CEL-1 for having a radio show. However, all CEL matters are handled at the end of the semester. Email us then. Basically, we need three things from you in order to give you a show: A signed yurt user agreement contract (attached to this email, so you can easily print it out) turned into our staff advisor, John Bruner. his office is right in the media basement of the library, and he has a mailbox outside of his door you can leave the contract in. (his email is jdbLO at hampshire.edu .) We need you to sign up for one training session (they take place in the yurt) so we can give you an overview on our new and established equipment. Send us an email with some free times, preferably in the coming week, that could work for a 15-minute training. (or, if you know deryn personally, just reach out to her.) we need an email from you with the following info: 1. The name of your show 2. An official description of the show 3. Three specific 1-hour time slots that work for you. Yurt shows are scheduled on the hour, and they can happen any time, day or night, 7 days a week -- but we offer priority to our returning dj pool. Check the ?calendar? tab on radio.hampshire.edu to see which slots are already booked for this semester! (side note: we want your description to read well! Something that will get people hyped on the show. It can be super simple, something like "Reggae and more on Thursday nights", but we just want it to give an intro to what the show would entail so we don?t have a bunch of mystery shows listed on our site.) Once we get all of that, you?ll be scheduled! thank you all for your patience and continued passion for the yurt and yurt radio community! see u around! :::)) -yurt crew -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
