Great idea.<br><br>My additions:<br><br>I recently spoke to someone at Lawrence Livermore in San Fran. They have over 1000 yellow bikes for their one square mile campus.<br>All bikes are "female" or unisex frame, big beach tires, coaster brake, chain guards and baskets.<br>This setup allows for uniformity, ease of repair and safety. No one can carry anything unless in a basket.<br>Helmets are required, bikes cannot leave the campus.<br><br>As I am trying to setup a bike share for my own place of work, I made friends with the local tech school.<br>They have a paint shop so painting costs will be reduced or eliminated. I offered to give them a couple of bikes as compensation.<br>If you have a local autobody shop, you can ask them to either donate a few gallons of "oops" yellow paint<br>or even ask them to paint for free.
