Hey all!!!

Tomorrow is Friday! And I'm just grinning* to remind you of
what that means!

This Friday @ 5pm in the Center for Feminisms:
Makeup For All Genders: A Skill-Share Space
Sponsored by the Gender-Identity Resource Network

This is an event for people who love makeup and people who are
curious about makeup to talk about makeup and makeup skills in a
space that is safe and supportive for people of all genders. Because
this group is so new, it's BYOM (Bring your own makeup). If you're
comfortable sharing makeup, then that's great for you, but it's
perfectly fine if you just want to keep your makeup for your own
face because of the hygiene and health concerns that come with
sharing stuff that touches the pores of your face. It's a skill
share, so you can still talk about makeup and demonstrate (on
yourself) your tips and techniques regardless of whatever else you
do or do not share. I'll be bringing like, 3/4s of a bottle of
rubbing alcohol for sanitizing stuff.

Because of the space we're trying to make, we want to ask that you
don't talk about who went to this event or what they did. No
gossiping about how wacky someone looked trying to apply makeup to
themself for the first time or how you didn't know person X secretly
had a large makeup collection or how person Y showed up and just sat
there and did nothing. Try and be supportive of makeup newbies and
respectful of the makeup gurus and understanding that for some
people entering this space might be incredibly terrifying and they
might have different ways of participating in the space. And please
don't make assumptions about anyone's identity based on whether or
not they attend this event or how they present themselves or
anything else. This event is open and welcome to allies.

Also we'll have pizza! Probably not enough considering how many
people say that they're attending on the event page
but eating pizza would ruin your lipstick anyway so like maybe most
people will opt-out of eating pizza??? It's gonna be 2 pizzas, a
smaller vegan pizza, and some fries, so if you need more than a
slice to be satisfied, it's perfectly okay to leave early to catch
Saga dinner or something. There's no set end time besides however
late people feel like staying.

This event is likely to happen again in future semesters if it
goes well, and then the next time it could be even better!

Speaking of organizing events and budget stuff...

This Friday @ 3:30pm in the CFF Conference Room**
Gender-Identity Resource Network Organizing Meeting!

We'll be making more progress on The Box Program (we
should probably give it a fun name) and also start
organizing our first All-Campus event! (And maybe make more
progress on the determining the possibilities of that super exciting
second event??? With that person whose name rhymes with Yaverne
Rox???) We'll also discuss ideas for the next social-space event.
At the end we'll collect all of the week's relevant events and
announcements into our weekly Gender-Identity Resource Network
Digest!

These meetings are open to everyone who wants to help out and
attending one meeting doesn't commit you to attending every meeting
or to attending the makeup event. We can really use all the help we
can get! Also, by showing up you'll be here early so you'll probably
get first dibs on the pizza when it gets there at the beginning of
the aforementioned event. The meetings are super chill, I promise,
and the more people who attend the more we're able to do with this
group. Right now we're sort of at capacity of how much we can do
with how many people tend to show up to these meetings.

<3 you all,
Jess

*I bet every few years from every new signer will make that pun
not realizing how done to death it will be by then, and thus the
pun will never die.
**It's by the kitchen! if someone tells you we're not here,
they're lying to you. If you take the entrance titled "Wellness
Center" and walk straight ahead you'll get to the conference room.
If you take the entrance titled "Center For Feminisms" walk
straight ahead through another door, past the staircase on your
left, and take a right turn around the corner and continue
straight. We're on the other end of the double-doors in the lounge
but there's antoher meeting in the lounge so using those doors
would be disruptive to them.
