*Job Search Strategies for the Trans* Community*

Thursday, February 20th 5pm-8pm
Dakin Living Room
Dinner will be provided

Finding a job is never easy. For trans* people, there can be
particular challenges. What name do you put on your resume? How can
you make sure your references will use the right pronoun? What do you
wear to the interview? Based on Davey? s experience connecting
hundreds of trans* job seekers with trans*-friendly jobs in their
fields, this workshop offers concrete tools and strategies for
navigating the job search while being yourself.

*Davey Shlasko* is an educator, consultant and activist whose passion
is facilitating group learning about & in the context of social
justice movements. Davey is the former manager of the Transgender
Economic Empowerment Initiative, the first-ever trans*-specific job
search support program, in San Francisco. Davey has been writing and
teaching about trans* issues since 2000, and earned an M.Ed. in Social
Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. More
info about Davey?s work is available at www.thinkagaintraining.com.
