[Grin] Clarifications on Meeting Today

Hey everyone,

So just some extra things about the Grin meeting today:

The organizing meeting and social space are not in the same location!
They are both in the CFF but the organizing meeting is in the CFF
/conference room/ and the social space is in the CFF /lounge/. This is
because the Five College Queer Conference Organization Committee is
having a meeting in the CFF lounge at the same time as the TSA
organizing meeting. The lounge is the room with tons of couches and
the conference room is that back room with the table by the kitchen.
Just wanted to make sure y'all knew this so you don't end up
disturbing the Queerconf meeting.

Also, because of the two consecutive days of inclement weather, we
probably won't have food today unless someone is willing to front
(which I wouldn't want to push on anyone. I was going to front but I'm
leaving campus in an hour and don't have time to get the money to
anyone who will be at the meeting. Between two jobs and preparing for
an off-campus conference, and then the weather happened, it just
didn't work out.)

Despite all this, I encourage you to attend! Since it's just a social
networking space, you can like, go to Saga at 6 with the people you
meet at Grin, or something. Maybe we (read: y'all) can play
icebreakers or something?

What's important is that we get a headcount so we know how much food
funding we can get for the future. It's $5 per person who attends your
group, so if you all come then we can request funds from fundcom based
on that number and start getting food each week without needing anyone
to front. Rather than using our uncertain initial funds to guess at
how much food is needed.

It's a bumpy road, but Hampshire's tradition for inaugurations is
flying kites for a reason. It's not always easy to get off the ground,
and sometimes it starts and crashes, but if you just keep running you
can get it flying high. (This is, in fact, the official metaphor put
forth by the founders of Hampshire.)

<3 you all (unless you're responsible for this snow. if you were
casting some kind of weather-control spell to bring heavy snow, then
maybe you owe the group some pizza, just sayin')

-Jess
