The Midwest Trans* and Queer Wellness Initiative (MTQWI) is seeking photographs
to be used on its new website.

The Midwest Trans* and Queer Wellness Initiative (MTQWI) is seeking photographs
by artists currently living in and/or originally from the Midwestern United
States (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri,
Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) to use in its soon
to be launched updated website.

Each photograph should portray scenes representative of an individual Midwestern
state (Great Lakes for Michigan, or field of wheat for Kansas, etc). Photographs
may be landscapes, cityscapes or towns, nature scenes, or any other broad scene.
Photographs should not include people (which exception of a crowded street,
traffic, etc). Artists are encouraged to submit photographs that represent what
the Midwest / being a Midwesterner means to them or one that reflects a
significant Midwestern location or common experience. Photos may also reflect
the past, present, or future of the Midwest as a place to live and work. Images
should express themes of optimism, hope, beauty, truth, and community. Each
artist may submit up to 3 photos. Photos may be all of one state, or of
multiple states.

The deadline for submissions is December 30th, 2011, 11:59pm. All photos
submitted become the property of MTQWI (with artist credit given). For more

MTQWI Photo Contest Submission Form:

Please submit ONE FORM per photograph (up to 3 per artist).

A note on artist credits: Artist credit will be listed depending on what
information is preferred by the artist. Ex. TD Smith, gender fluid, Veve,
Indiana. Examples of how photographs may appear on the website are provided on
the submissions page. Please do not send photos with text already on them.

Format Requirements:

·        Photos must be at least 100ppi

·        Photos must measure at least 350 x 350 pixels

·        Photos must be in jpeg/jpg format

·        Photo file must be titled in correct format: Title image files with the
artist name, state, and if submitting more than one, a number.

o       Example: Photo of Veve, Indiana by TD Smith = Indiana_Smith1.jpg
