hey everybody,
i'm writing from building awareness across bars (hampshire's prison reform
and abolition group) about some awesome hampshire activists collaborative
networking events between BAAB, the QCA, and the TSA.
with our powers (and budgets) combined we're making a zine that addresses
the experiences of transgendered individuals within the U.S. prison system.
we're gonna meet up in the QCA at 4pm on Sunday November 5th. come with
images, facts, poetry, ideas, glue, sharpies, typewriters, and whatever else
you think would be good radical propaganda creating devices. there will be
music, and food, and good company, and also zines rock so be there or you'll
cry later when you see how good it turns out.
we are also co-sponsoring a QUEST workshop on Thursday November 9th at 6pm
in the FPH Faculty Lounge. QUEST's workshops address ways in which the Prison
Industrial Complex negatively impacts queer youth of color from low income
communities through skits and discussion sessions. if you saw it last year it
will be even better, and if you didn't just trust me and come.
hope we see you there,
*rachel
