On behalf of the Black Student Union of Umass Amherst, we cordially invite
you and your group to our special event featuring guest speaker, BETs own
Jeff Johnson (Cousin Jeff). Jeff Johnson is a political motivator and
social
commentator speaking to baby boomers and the Hip-Hop generation. BET
introduced The Cousin Jeff Chronicles, a series of true-life documentaries
that deal with current and pertinent issues facing urban communities.
Jeffs
commitment to fostering communication between the civil rights and hip-hop
generations has been successful as he tours the country speaking at
universities, faith-based organizations and churches.
We want to be sure that you do not miss out on this special event we are
offering to you FREE of charge. Dont hesitate to spread the word to others
that you think might also enjoy this educational and very exciting lecture.
This event takes place on Monday, May 1st @ Umass Amherst in the Campus
Center
Auditorium at 7pm.
We would also like to invite you to join us in our follow up discussion
at the third installment of our Real Talk Series, Real Talk III: A
Discussion
on Hip Hop- Where its been? Where its at? and Where its going? This
will
be your opportunity to discuss among your peers, the topics that were
brought
up during the lecture. Real Talk will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd,
from 7-
9pm on the 5th floor of Coolidge residence hall at Umass Amherst.
