Dear RAICES,

I wanted to let you know about an important question on 
the ballot this November – Question 2, also known as 
the bilingual education reform question. 
A wealthy millionaire from California is trying to pass a 
law here in Massachusetts that will eliminate local 
control over bilingual education and mandate a 
one-size-fits-all one-year immersion program and 
allow for suing teachers and school boards. 

Recently, the acting governor signed into law a 
bipartisan bilingual education reform bill crafted by the 
legislature that would reform bilingual ed, but would 
allow for much more local control and better cost 
efficiency. 

Please join teachers, school boards, elected officials 
and others from across the state who think this 
one-year immersion program goes too far!
