THE AWARD-WINNING LATINO FILM THE BLUE DINER (LA FONDA AZUL) BY FILMMAKERS
NATATCHA ESTEBANEZ AND JAN EGLESON IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SPECIAL SCREENINGS AT
YOUR UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE.

THE BLUE DINER is an award winning feature film about food, memory, language
and caskets. It is the evocative new feature film from the Boston based
writing/directing/producing team of Natatcha Estébanez and Jan Egleson. One
of the few fully bilingual American independent films, this dramatic and
hilarious story celebrates how a Latina mother and daughter confront a lost
father, a lost language, and lost love. Misunderstood and equally stubborn,
these women clash powerfully and comically until they realize how much they
need each other. Miriam Colón and Lisa Vidal star as the explosive
mother-daughter duo. Jose Yenque and William Marquez are featured as the men
who love them.

After screening the film at many festivals nationwide and around the world,
Natatcha and Jan are presenting the film at Univeristies and Colleges. As
part of the presentation, the filmmakers introduce the film and then hold a
Question and Answer session with the audience. These discussions include
anecdotes about the making of the film, a unique behind the scenes look at
the independent filmmaking world, the struggles to bring Latino stories to
the screen that fight stereotypes, and discussions about what it means to be
a Latino in America.
