[Push] RANDOM-SEED parameter

I'm using a couple of 16-core machines and soon a 48-core machine. I'm getting near 100% utilization of each core and it feels quite fast, but I haven't carefully timed it to know what the actual speedup is. Designing a really good test for this is probably a little tricky and I've been more concerned with trying out my new research ideas than with benchmarking.
