i talked to delroy about the police log kind of accidently.  he came to our
intern staff meeting and told us in context of talking about times pub
saftey officers patrol that they were getting a new software program to
record the things that go on - the police log.  apparently hamsphire is
required by law to publish it somewhere, and he was talking about how the
schoool needs to meet that requirement by the end of this school year or
lose federal aid.  apparently he had no idea wehre to publish it, and was
thinkign about putting it in the forward because that's the closest
hampsrehi has to an official newspaper.  so i told him that the omen used to
publish it, and we publish much more frequently and reliably than the
forward does, and we'd love to publish it again.  i gave him some old omens
with the police log in it, so hopefully this will work okay.  he also said
tom doherty was working on this issue, so i was also thinking of dropping
him an e-mail.  so we might need to fight a bit to get it in the omen
because we're not the "official" paper.  makes me want to puke.
