<div dir="ltr">Hi all,<div><br></div><div>Just trying to get the word out about an upcoming volunteer opportunity. New Lands Farm is a refugee farmer collective in West Springfield that works to provide refugee and immigrant farmers with the tools and resources needed to access land and agricultural opportunities in Central and Western Massachusetts. We're hosting a work day to get the farm ready for the upcoming season and could really use some student support.</div>
<div><br></div><div>We need a work group who could come in and help out with the following tasks:</div><div>--Seeding clover for Spring cover crop</div><div>--Dividing up plots to measure and mark out</div><div>--Organizing the tool shed</div>
<div>--Opening the farm up for the season</div><div><br></div><div>The work day will be on Saturday, April 12th from 9:30am-1:30pm, amounting to 4 hours of CEL-I/II credit for students who participate. If you're interested in volunteering your time and energy, please email me at <a href="mailto:mb12@hampshire.edu">mb12@hampshire.edu</a> as soon as possible, as seats in the van driving to the farm are limited. </div>
<div><br></div><div>We'll be working outside so warm, sturdy clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and closed-toed shoes you can comfortably work in are recommended. Layers are a good bet, as it might get warm throughout the day. Bring a water bottle and any snacks/lunch you'd like to have. </div>
