Individual Meetings with Kaityn Millen, 02F
Monday, March 26, 2018 - 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Kaitlyn is pursuing a PhD in Special Ed at the University of Northern 
Colorado, and since leaving Hampshire has made her mark in outdoor 
education, working with and teaching the deaf, and wilderness medicine. 
More about her different experiences are below!

The Alum 1-2-1 program is your chance to have a 30-minute informal 
conversation with a Hampshire alum. It's an opportunity to brainstorm, 
ask questions, and bounce ideas off alums who are spending their lives 
doing what they love. Use CORC's online scheduler found at 
corc.hampshire.edu

up for a 30-minute meeting with Kaitlyn (scroll down and click the 
yellow “Schedule an Appointment” button). Be sure to include your 
division, phone number, and a brief note about your interests and questions.

Appointment times are available from 9:30 - 11:30 am on Monday, March 
26^th and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students of 
all Division levels (and recent grads!) are welcome to schedule a meeting.

Since graduating in 2006, Kaitlyn has done a lot:

  * Worked in outdoor education- led rock climbing, backpacking, and
    international and domestic adventure travel programs for many years
    (This summer, she will be leading an expedition in Nepal with
    students and leaders who have various disabilities including
    blindness, deafness, and deaf-blindness.)
  * Worked as an oil field medic in remote areas in Canada as an EMT
  * Directed the recreation and athletics program at the Tennessee
    School for the Deaf
  * Received a Master's in Education of the Deaf at Smith College
  * Taught middle school math, science, and physical education with deaf
    and hard of hearing students
  * Is currently pursuing a PhD in special education at the University
    of Northern Colorado
  * Serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Northern Colorado and
    the University of North Florida
  * Will pursue a faculty position in education in 1-2 years

While at Hampshire, Kaitlyn:

  * Started the ASL Collective
  * Started a running club; eventually made it into a cross country
    team. She coached when Hampshire raced against other colleges for a
    couple seasons
  * Was involved with the Outdoor Program and went on many trips and
    took classes with them
