New NEW Leaf Meeting Time! Signers! Events!

Hey you, wondering what's hampening with New Leaf this semester? We have a
new meeting time/space:
~Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm Kern Room 108~
First meeting is tomorrow!!!

All are welcome whether you're new to new leaf or environmental activism,
you can't remember how you ended up on this listserv, you're only coming
for the food etc (okay maybe not the last reason... we didn't start
ordering food yet). Whatever the case, hope to see you there. The new
signers will be Emory Ellis and Anna Bey :)

Other c00L + important eco events in February:

(Today in a couple hours!) Tuesday February 7th, 5:30 - 7pm
Recycling and Refuse Management Committee RRMC Town Meeting
Town Room, 2nd floor of Town Hall 4 Boltwood Ave, Amherst MA 01002
Learn about steps being taken to transition Amherst to a Zero Waste town,
listen to heated debates about whether or not to ban plastic water bottles,
plan sustainability fest, strategize about zero waste public education,
etc.

Saturday 5pm February 11th Merrill Living Room Kosher Kitchen bake hallah
and make soup with the JSU (Jewish Student Union) in preparation for... Sunday
5:30pm Red Barn celebrate the holiday of the trees (Tu B'shevat)!! This is
open to people of all backgrounds who love nature regardless of religion or
lack thereof... music, singing, lots of food, and come dressed as a tree if
you feel so inclined (flyer attached).

Jacqui Patterson, Director, NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice Program:
Environmental injustice, including the proliferation of climate change, has
a disproportionate impact on communities of color and low income
communities in the United States and around the world. The NAACP
Environmental and Climate Justice Program was created to support community
leadership in addressing this human and civil rights issue.
