Dear Composting Friends,
You are receiving this email because you have either already helped
staff a compost station at an event, or are a known tree hugger to me :)
and might be willing to help or forward this onto like minded friends.
This email should have gone out days ago, but this has been an usual
week to say the least. I did get power back last night! Although still
w/o phone and internet which is why I am still in the CLA.
This Sunday is Hampshire's largest admissions event...Open House,
followed by Monday's campus visit day. They are using Bio Ware so it
would be super helpful to have folks at each disposal area to keep the
bins from being contaminated. Some of you know only too well how
difficult a job that is because not everyone reads the signs, as lovely
as they are. These meals are in the RCC and you would get to eat of
course if you volunteer. And ya never can tell what perspective student
might choose to come here if you talk with them. :) It's also so nice
for families to interact with students so I see this role as not just
pointing to the correct bin, although that certainly is helpful.
MEALS HELP IS NEEDED
Sunday Cont. Breakfast 8-9am ( I don't really expect any of you to get
up that early but just in case)
Sunday Lunch 12:45-1:45pm (they are expecting 450 people!!)
Monday Lunch noon-1:00
If you want to help, just show up. Since I don't have email at home,
it's not like I can keep track anyway. My son Aaron is a perspective
student so I will be attending both days as a PARENT, although I did
agree to do a panel early Sunday morning but after that I am a parent :)
not a dean. So having the composting not part of my job would kinda be
nice too.
PS. Fall Feast was fantastic, thanks to folks who helped make it happen.
Compost wise...I thought there were too many disposal areas so I would
like to make only 5 if we have any influence over that on Sunday. It's
better to have fewer areas that are staffed than expect helpers to float
between barrels because it's ALWAYS when you walk away that the trash
goes in.
I do want to keep track of everyone who helped so if someone could make
a mental note of that I can get it later.
Thanks for your consideration and for reading all of this.
Pam

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to
think critically... Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of
true education.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to
favor freedom, and yet, renounce controversy, are the people who want
crops without plowing the ground.
